Edmonton, Alberta – Backwoods Energy Services (Backwoods), a leading provider of construction services and one of the largest Indigenous-owned businesses in Alberta, is proud that Morgan Elliot, a seasoned financial executive, has joined the company’s leadership team as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Elliot comes to Backwoods with significant experience in financial management, change leadership, business execution and corporate strategy, with expertise working with numerous Indigenous organizations.

Since 2010, Mr. Elliot held CFO roles with a large multinational general contracting firm and a variety of international oil & gas services firms with operations throughout the Americas, High Arctic, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Prior to this, he spent almost a decade in a senior managerial role with a large multinational accounting firm.

Mr. Elliot holds a Bachelor of Management Degree from the University of Lethbridge and is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant. For the past 15 years, he has served as a Board member, founder, and past CEO, of a large local registered charity providing services for individuals with disabilities.
